Job Description
The position is responsible for the delivery and management of energy-related legal services, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and laws including the EPIRA and other energy laws, regulations and governance. This position is also responsible for providing legal services required for PSA negotiations including drafting, review, execution and implementation.
Responsibilities are the following:
- Provides legal advice and guidance in the PSA negotiations
- Provides legal advice and guidance on energy-related matters and keeps relevant stakeholders abreast of developments critical to business decision-making
- Develops and reviews contracts and negotiates with external parties to ensure legal and acceptable binding agreements and protection of group interest
- Conducts contract reviews of contracts prepared by external parties/AP units and gives recommendations to ensure AP’s property and non-property rights are substantially/fully protected
- Acts as resource during claims/defense and counterclaims, litigation, negotiation and court proceedings circumstances
- Participates in legal audit and compliance activities of AP
- Guides associate general counsel/s in the management of operational legal risks of AP and its business units
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years related experience (experience in the energy industry, an advantage)
- Preferably with at least 5 years experience/training in Law Firm
- Bachelor’s Degree (LLB or JD) in Law and a member in good standing of Philippine Bar
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Negotiation skills
