Job Description
Job Objectives
- Ascertains that the P&L goals are achieved and ensures that S&R Membership Shopping remains the market leader in competitiveness, profitability, and service.
- Ensures all employees adopt the company's vision and mission and be guided in every aspect of the business with the Six Rights of Merchandising.
- Achieves the shrink (level) that does not exceed budget and strictly implements inventory audit procedures and measures to evaluate potential shrink.
- Enforces all warehouse operations policies and procedures necessary to run the business at the highest level.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Performance
- Reviews daily Sales Penetration Variance Report of AS 400, Daily Sales Report, Door Count, Refund Log, and Cycle Count.
- Reviews the Comparison Shopping Report.
- Reviews Produce, Tire, and Photo Count.
- Reviews the Wholesale Coordinator's Report, Other Business Count, Security Count, and Incoming Containers.
- Accomplishes the P&L monthly report.
- Obtains, evaluates, and recommends changes in the warehouse programs on the basis of evaluation results and competitive development.
Member Service
- Reviews the member and employee comments and suggestions.
- Investigates complaints from members, prepare reports and make recommendations for solving the problem, and ensure appropriate follow-up on all complaints.
Merchandise Stocking and Presentation
- Checks quantities of merchandise and coordinate concerns with buyers.
- Reviews and suggest end caps/promo areas maximize sales.
- Ensures that there is no issue of 'stock-out' in the warehouse.
- Ensures that no items on display are damaged, soiled, or broken.
Merchandise Management and Control
- Conducts daily warehouse floor walk.
- Updates F6 or Security Count, Negative On-Hand, Throw Away, and Markdown Items.
- Accomplishes the II and IU reports and submits them to the Executive Office.
- Updates the Zero Sales of Merchandising and Inventory Audits.
- Reviews OB Cycle count.
Cost Control and Loss Prevention
- Gathers from the department managers the weekly To-Do List, Receiving Summary, and General Manager's Report.
- Reviews Membership Variance, Payroll Variance, and Headcount Report.
- Accomplishes the weekly report and submits it to the office of the VP-Operations.
Leadership and Staff Supervision
- Conducts weekly manager's meetings.
- Submits weekly goals to the VP-Operations.
- Checks to ensure that subordinates are properly trained on responsibilities and company rules and regulations.
- Disseminates new policies and guidelines and reviews employees' compliance with company rules and regulations, investigates incidents of violations, and recommends corrective consultations.
- Checks on and improves employees' merchandise knowledge, selling techniques, and merchandise presentation skills to improve their selling opportunities.
- Makes employees aware of new merchandise facts and employs this knowledge in selling.
- Evaluates managers' performance, recommend promotions, and transfers, and undertake employee guidance and counseling to discuss expectations and performance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- At least 8 years of experience in the same role and industry;
- College graduate of any 4-year course;
- Good leadership skills;
