Risk Finance Specialist | Project Based | Taguig  

Position Summary:

The position will support the execution of the activities in the BG Insurances and Finance Risk Management Program providing overall risk-related support for all Thermal BG sites and functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

ERM Risk Finance Policies and Procedures

• Supports ERM Risk Finance Manager in Developing ERM Policies and Guidelines to BG.
• Ensures review is done regularly and policies and procedures are updated as necessary.
• Acts as specific point of contact (SPOC) to escalate issues on risk finance management related programs and policies to steering committees.

Risk Assessment (ORMP/SRMP/PRMP)

• Supervises the implementation of the Thermal BG risk finance assessment and planning including process improvements across all sites.

Risk Culture

• Supports ERM Risk Finance Manager in implementing programs to build risk awareness culture in the organization.

RM Support for other functions, management systems

• Supports the Strategy and Performance Manager and ERM Finance Risk Manager for risk related activities in the Strategic Planning process.

Risk Transfer/Insurance

• Supports ERM Risk Finance Manager in the review and submission of declaration and supporting information needed for the contract negotiation involving insurance, indemnity or maximum foreseeable loss assumptions or provisions prior to the execution of the contract.
• Supports the ERM Manager in the analysis and periodically reviews all insurance policies and endorsements to ensure effective coverage of risks and consistency with risk transfer strategies.
• Coordinates with AEV Risk Finance Team for periodic orientation on insurance covers and claims processes.

Risk Engineering

• Works closely with the SPOCs and Process Owners in for the survey schedule and submission of the required documents for the risk engineering survey.
• Reviews Risk Engineering Surveyors Report and discuss the RE recommendations with the SPOCs and Process Owners for comment and approval/compliance.

Processing of Payment

• Reviews premium invoices, validates charges in accordance to the agreed rates, prepares the Request for Payment, routes for approval, and monitors payment.
• Ensure that premiums and expenses are paid within the agreed credit terms in coordination with finance and/or accounting team on-time payment of RFPs and serves check payment to vendor/supplier.

Incident Reporting and Claims Management

• Manages and administers loss and claim activities to maximize recoveries from insurers and facilitate the payment of the claims.
• Analyzes circumstances of loss and prepares loss evaluation reports with claim recommendations for management approval and endorsement to the ERM Risk Finance Manager and AEV Risk Finance Team.
• Prepares periodic loss reports to management and AEV Risk Finance Team.

Risk Finance Project Management

• Lead Tier 1 or Tier 2 project requiring general management skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Coordinates across all groups to facilitate the delivery of major project related activities across the Thermal BG.
• Promotes and implements good, disciplined, sound project management techniques.
• Manages a project, coordinating, and supporting teams
• Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary
• Reports and tracks progress of projects and prompt senior management interventions and support, as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Management or other related courses
• Relevant Insurance certification/trainings an advantage, but not a required
• At least 2-4 years equivalent experience in risk management, power industry and related fields
