Forester | Project Hire | For Libmanan, Camarines Sur  

Will be responsible for the implementing and monitoring all forestation and reforestation projects at the Project site. This role also provides support to all Environmental requirements of the Project and ensures compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits, including but not limited to the Forest Land Use Agreement (FLAg), Tree-cutting Permits (TCP), Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), and other environment-related licenses.

• Plan and direct forestation and reforestation projects.
• Determine methods of cutting and removing timber with minimum waste and environmental impact, and suggest methods of processing wood for various uses.
• Direct suppression of forest fires and conduct fire prevention programs.
• Assist in planning and implementing flood control, soil erosion, management of tree diseases and insect pests in forests
• Advise landowners on forestry management techniques and conduct public educational programs on forest care and conservation.
• Participate in environmental studies and prepare environmental reports.
• Develop strategies for conserving wildlife habitats, creek beds, water quality, and soil stability, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
• Monitor contract compliance and forestry activities to ensure adherence to government regulations.
• Choose and prepare sites for new trees, using controlled burning, bulldozers, or herbicides to clear weeds, brush, and logging debris.
• Plan and supervise forestry projects, such as determining the type, number, and placement of trees to be planted, managing tree nurseries, thinning forests, monitoring seedling growth, and management of protected areas and arboretum
• Analyze the effect of forest conditions on tree growth rates and tree species prevalence and the yield, duration, seed production, growth viability, and germination of different species.
• Monitor forest-cleared lands to ensure that they are reclaimed to their most suitable end use.
• Plan and direct forest surveys and related studies, and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Subcontract with loggers or pulpwood cutters for tree removal and to aid in road layout.
• Study different tree species' classification, life history, light and soil requirements, adaptation to new environmental conditions, and resistance to disease and insects.
• Collaborate, with the Stakeholder Relationship Compliance Team in getting necessary environmental documents and permits, and ensure compliance with government environmental licenses and permits such as SLUP, FLAg, Tree Cutting Permit, etc.
• Act as a forest-management specialist for CEDI
• Prepare environmental reports for customers, company personnel, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in preparing and summarizing the Environmental budget to optimize resources and maintain compliance with environmental regulations
• Prepare summary Environmental Management Plans, programs, incident reports, and accomplishment reports and apply mitigation strategies to succeeding programs.
• Monitor and prepare a report on Environmental KPIs and results.
• Perform any other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate superior in line with the role.

• Must be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry
• Preferably Licensed Forester
• With at least two (2) years of relevant experience as a Forester or similar role
• Must be willing to travel and work in Libmanan, Camarines Sur
