Data Modeler

Primary Function
The Data Modeler should have previous experience in data modeling for Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence projects. The candidate should also have SQL Server ETL Architecture and/or ETL Development skills or equivalent. This resource will be primarily responsible for strategic projects that focus on source system knowledge/analysis, complex business requirements, design and delivery, and
processing strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review current processes to understand the as-is environment.
• Develop design documents inclusive of ODS (Operational Data Stores) or DW (Data
Warehouse) data model structures that can address client requirements.
• Works with the key business representatives, data owners, end-users, application designers,and technical architects to model the current data (where models do not already exist) and for the to-be system.
• Creates logical and physical data models for as-is and proposed or to-be systems.
• Creates entity-relationship diagrams for relational systems and dimensional diagrams for the Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and data cubes.
• Reviews, updates, and validates data models with key business representatives and endusers.
• Works with key technical personnel to define and create required metadata.
• Maintains data models continuously as modifications and enhancements are made.
• Creates data model structures to enhance the performance of the application by creating aggregation and summarization structures.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT-related discipline.

2. Must have at least two (2) years of related experience in large corporate system environments working with large and complex data warehouse systems.

3. The Data Modeler should have previous experience in data modeling for Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence projects.

4. The candidate should also have SQL Server ETL Architecture and/or ETL Development skills or equivalent.
