Leyte Agri Corp. is the first non exclusive bioethanol producer and manufacturer in the Philippines and remains steadfast in meeting the growing demand for bioethanol fuel. The company is engaged in manufacturing of food-grade (beverage and denatured) alcohol and bio-ethanol, with an annual capacity of 9 million liters. Its distillery in Ormoc City, Leyte ably contributes to the economic development of the community, and the local and national government. Last October 20, 2012, the company was given a plaque as one of the “TOP TEN HIGHEST TAXPAYER” in Ormoc City. The Company has a total manpower of 78 regular employees. Leyte Agri produces Liquid Carbon Dioxide (LCO2) for the local industrial market. The LCO2 recovery plant in Ormoc is a symbol of the Company's deep regard for a safer environment. The Company works closely with the Multi-Partite Environment Monitoring Team (from the DENR, NGOs, LGUs as well as religious and academic sectors) assess the plant’s enactments on environmental safety and protection. The company has strived to improve its efficiency and quality by installing an 80 MT weighbridge, all SS Sulfuric Acid Tanks, bigger ricehull storage, modern laboratory equipments and continuing Research & Development for converting its waste to fertilizer. In November 2006, Leyte Agri was conferred with the “International Green Apple Environment Award for Environment Best Practice” at the House of Commons in London.
