Job Summary

We are a leading accounting and business advisory organization that is capital of providing solutions to our clients, team, shareholders and community to shape their success in a changing world.

We are looking for an accountant with at least two years’ experience working with Australian clients in a similar role. 

 

Key Responsibilities

<ul>
	<li>Accounts preparation in completion of workpapers for different types of entities </li>
	<li>Prepare and complete income tax returns for lodging entities including individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies and work to ensure that deadlines are met.</li>
	<li>Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance obligations such as activity statements</li>
	<li>Prepare annual profit forecasts and estimates </li>
	<li>Evaluate the clients’ accounting systems and monitor client management reports for underlying business improvement issues, </li>
	<li>Implement tax planning decisions taken by manager, principle and/or partner. Research and conclude on basic tax issues, especially those in relation to tax return </li>
	<li>Under direct supervision, gather tax information from client’s system and verify financial results and analysis of income and expenditure. </li>
	<li>Prepare standard letters on tax matters to the client and ATO.</li>
	<li>Fridge Benefits Tax (FBT) – Manage FBT system</li>
	<li>Populate systems and calculators with relevant details from the documents.</li>
	<li>Under direct supervision, liaise with other departments, such as the SMSF Division, to support provision of Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Services </li>
	<li>Respond to client queries in an accurate and timely manner to ensure service standards are maintained at an optimal level. </li>
	<li>Work within the legal and operating confines of your skill and knowledge, seeking advice from Senior Accountant / Supervisor / Manager / Principals / Partner(s) on issues outside of them. </li>
	<li>Complete jobs within budget expectations and assist Managers / Partners with WIP/Billing </li>

The Junior Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining and recording day-to-day financial transactions under Loft, which include, but not limited to, A/P, A/R, payroll and tax compliance.

The Junior Accountant will work closely with the General Accountant and Accounting Supervisor. S/he should also be able to effectively coordinate with the Loft Sales Team and August 99 Money Matters Team. S/he must also ensure that all transactions are properly documented and address all discrepancies and concerns as they arise.

 

Responsibilities

	<li>Record day to day transactions for sales and purchases</li>
	<li>Prepares payroll register and statutory schedules with minimal number of employees</li>
	<li>Analyze reports generated from the accounting system</li>
	<li>Conduct month-end and year-end close process</li>
	<li>Deliver excellent customer service to Loft clients and team by addressing questions professionally and promptly</li>
	<li>Work on special projects such as process improvements, data analysis/compilation, presentations, report building, etc.</li>
	<li>Other duties that may be assigned by the Finance Manager and Loft Division Head</li>
