Job Description
Job summary:
To assist the Accounts Payable Officer by performing various clerical tasks to ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role involves handling vendor communications, managing payment schedules, and maintaining detailed records to support financial operations.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Receive and review invoices from vendors and employees for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and prepare them for payment processing.
- Verify the correctness of details, amounts, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to their inquiries regarding payments, discrepancies, and account status.
- Set up new vendor accounts and update existing vendor information as needed.
- Reconcile payment batches and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all Accounts Payable transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Minimum Qualifications
Competencies/skills required:
- Graduate of Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance, Accountancy or any related course
- Ideally with at least two (2) years’ experience handling Finance or equivalent
- Analytical and strategic thinking
- Advanced knowledge in Accounts Payable
- Time management skills and setting priorities
- MS Excel knowledge
- Self-sufficient and being able to act with utmost integrity
