Applications Engineer  

The Applications Engineer designs and develops concepts for manufactured products such as furniture, crafts, appliances, and fashion items. They combine art, business, and engineering principles to create products that people use every day. In this role, they carefully consider the functionality, aesthetics, production costs, and usability of products when developing new concepts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Draft sketches and illustrations of potential products or enhance an existing product to make it more appealing to consumers.
• Use blueprints, detailed drawings, or computer-aided designs to demonstrate product potential.
• Fabricate models using samples.
• Revise models according to client specifications.
• Research design trends and product limitations.
• Work with engineering, marketing, production, and/or sales departments to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products.
• Present designs to client for approval.
• Conduct training, workshops, or webinars for the assigned technologies.
• Use CAD software to refine designs and create virtual models of products.
• Utilize 3D printing to create product prototypes that are both non-functional and working to evaluate their practicality

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in industrial design, Architecture, Engineering, or Multimedia & Arts; newly graduates are welcome to apply.
• Knowledgeable in CAD software for 3D design or computer-aided industrial design (CAID) software, 3D printing, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in creative industries like crafts, fashion, furniture, architecture & advertising will be an advantage to the position.
• Design & tech-savvy, creative & artistic.
• An analytical thinker who is energized by solving problems through design.
