Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Expedock, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a large part of the engineering team in the development, delivery, and maintenance of our software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product and design to ensure the successful execution of projects. You will also contribute to the overall technical strategy and provide leadership in adopting best practices, innovative technologies, and development methodologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented software engineers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Project Management: Work closely with product managers to define project scope, prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Technical Strategy: Contribute to the technical vision, roadmap, and long-term strategy for the engineering team, aligning it with the overall business objectives.
  • Talent Development: Identify skill gaps, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching and professional development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and expertise.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve development processes, tools, and methodologies, promoting a culture of innovation, efficiency, and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in leading and managing high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Strong technical background in software development, preferably in web-based or SaaS environments, with expertise in relevant technologies such as React, Flask, Javascript, Typescript, Python, Postgres, Snowflake, AWS.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and project management principles.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams, drive results, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical plans.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
