Job Description
- Reports to the Operations and Finance Head.
- Supervise and lead a team of accounting staff, providing training, motivation, and ensuring adherence to high standards.
- Manage and oversee the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Analyze financial data, generate reports, and provide insights to support informed business decisions.
- Manage and forecast budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify areas for cost savings.
- Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and industry best practices within the wine industry (e.g., excise taxes, specific inventory valuation methods).
- Prepare and submit various reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Liaise with other departments (sales, procurement, inventory) to ensure accurate financial records
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s/College degree in Accountancy
- With relevant experience in general accounting or financial accounting gained from an automotive industry or accounting firm
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and Phil Financial Reporting System and related tax laws.
