RE + BESS Project Development Specialist  

The position holder is responsible for supporting the RE and ESS Manager on the overall project development processes which would include the feasibility studies, identifying and citing of project facilities, initial & detailed survey, geotechnical investigations and analysis, design development, project optimization, establishing the investment case, coordinating offtake agreements, project financing, preparation of specifications and tendering of the projects. Also included within this stage is the close coordination with the Stakeholder Relations and Compliance (SRC) Team for the social compliance processes, regulatory compliance and securing of the necessary permits from various government agencies

Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting the RE&ESS Manager for overall management of the ESS assessment and integration within project development activities and processes.
• Provide support for the detailed analysis and assessment of the technical and financial viability of integrating ESS into an RE facility to be developed.
• Provide inputs and support for the project development budget
• Provide inputs and support for key ESS project development deliverables, reporting mechanisms and timelines, and integration of such in the overall RE project development
• Monitors progress and provides report with specific ESS project timeline within the overall project development milestones
• Monitors and provides report related to the quality assurance system
• Provide inputs and support for the ESS project feasibility and design development process including concept and design reviews with internal and external independent reviewers
• Provide support in the coordination with Engineering and Commercial Teams the detailed design of the project, division into tender packages and the tendering process through to the award of the contracts to the various contractors subject to the agreement of the project delivery strategy.
• Provides support with communication with external consultants during development of the project.
• Provides support on monitoring to ensure key project deliverables are being met in order to comply with the financing Conditions Precedent as per the loan agreement.
• Provide support on the document management of all contracts related to the Project to ensure each party’s obligations are met.

Minimum Qualification

• Professional: At least 3-5 years in related experience, with at least 1-3 years experience in a specific technology (e.g. solar/wind/hydro/ESS)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Has prior experience to developing BESS/RE Projects
• Has prior experience handling or running HOMER or other Simulation Softwares
