AWS Cloud Engineer  

Job Descriptions (Cloud Ops Lead)
- Oversee and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets the requirements for availability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Create weekly and monthly report to be presented to management
- Continously Analyze and optimize the performance of the of the cloud infrastructure
- Providing technical guidance and leadership on cloud-related activities
- Monitor cloud environments using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other monitoring tools.
- Implement alerting, logging, and auditing mechanisms to ensure high service uptime.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for cloud configurations, incident reports, and operational procedures. Regularly report on system performance, uptime, and other KPIs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to do root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.

Job Description (L2)
- Provide level 2 technical support for AWS environments, including services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and CloudFormation. Resolve complex technical issues escalated from the L1 support team.
- Respond to and resolve AWS-related incidents and service requests that are escalated from Level 1 support. Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor AWS environments for performance, availability, and security using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other monitoring tools. Implement solutions for performance improvements and cost optimization.
- Help automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Assist in maintaining AWS security best practices, ensuring compliance with security standards, and supporting activities related to auditing, monitoring, and vulnerability management.
- Manage and ensure the availability and integrity of backups, using services like AWS Backup, EBS snapshots, and RDS backups. Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for AWS environments, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures. Share knowledge with junior team members and L1 support engineers.
- Assist in planning and executing changes to AWS environments, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth releases.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operations processes, troubleshooting workflows, and AWS best practices.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience managing and optimizing AWS infrastructure and services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, etc)
- Experience with cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation)
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, EKS.
- Experience with Linux Operating System
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficient in monitoring and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Datadog, or similar.
- Experience with cost optimization in the AWS cloud environment.
- Strong problem-solving and incident management capabilities, including experience managing critical situations and minimizing downtime.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on AWS.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional are highly preferred. (Cloud Ops Lead)
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate are strongly preferred. (L2)
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
