Deskripsi Pekerjaan
The Systems Operations Engineer, aka Technical Services Specialist (TSS), role is to help enable the company make their jobs efficient thru technology and to manage and secure the information systems of the company.
The TSS handles the full cycle of IT asset management from strategic sourcing, procurement, configuration, deployment, maintenance and disposal. The TSS also handles technical support for stores and assists in other IT projects.
The TSS reports to the Technical Services Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Asset Procurement
- Stays abreast with the emerging and latest technologies on IT equipment to ensure that IT equipment are up-to-date and sustainable
- Evaluates computing equipment such as laptops, desktops, printers etc. and then make recommendations prior to purchase.
- Looks for potential and reliable vendors who can meet the standards and requirements of the company
- Coordinates with vendors; prepares Request for Information/ Request for Quotation for all prospective vendors and selects the best vendor who can provide the equipment at the least cost with the highest specs
- Continuously searches for new tools and equipment that will improve employees’ efficiency.
- Ensures that Standard Operating Procedures are followed eg. preparing at least two proposals from different vendors, a Purchase Requisition (PR) is created prior Purchase Order and actual execution or delivery of goods except for urgent cases, etc
- Handles the all administrative tasks related to the procurement process including preparation of the PR, RFP, etc in the respective systems; follows up from the respective departments to prevent delays in the PR, PO, RFP processing
Asset Management
- Prepares the inventory of assets and ensures that all assets due for replacement are included in the budget
- Manages the inventory of IT assets; ensures that the inventory list is updated (custodians are updated, asset tags are complete, store assignments/ locations are updated, etc)
- Ensures complete documentation of all IT assets including asset tags, FAMS for location/ custodian transfer, etc
- Ensures that all equipment needed to be archived are stored properly including POS machines for BIR purposes, etc
- Handles the disposal IT equipment and peripherals; ensures all security measures are applied when disposing IT assets especially those containing data
- Ensures that the IT Archive are regularly checked and cleaned and that all equipment that can be disposed are properly disposed
- Enforces Office Computing Policies and Mobile Computing and Mobile Storage Device Policy; conducts regular audits/ checks of all units
- Helps ensure compliance to other IT Security Policies including Network Policy, Email and Internet Policy, Mobile Computing and Mobile Storage Device Policy and Data Access Policy
- Helps ensure compliance to all external regulatory requirements regarding security
Security and Compliance
- Helps ensure compliance to all internal IT policies Network Policies and Email and Internet Policies conducts regular audits/ checks of all units
- Helps ensure compliance to all external regulatory requirements regarding security
Technical Support
- Provides first line technical support for Hardware and Infrastructure related issues
- Provides troubleshooting for computing units such as POS, desktops, laptops, CCTV, AV equipment, Wifi, printers and peripherals and all other IT-related equipment
- Coordinates with vendors for warranties and repairs and ensures that all IT equipment are covered by maintenance agreement
- Handles the daily maintenance of Laptops, desktop and other computing peripherals needed for the daily operations
- Provides technical support for software applications as needed
- Handle the installation of client-based software applications such as NAV, EPORTAL, etc
- For Enterprise Resource Planning and POS applications, ensure that data is replicated to and from the target systems
- Ensure that daily schedules jobs are running provided it has been turned over by the Business systems group after the implementation phase
- Ensure that all technical requirements needed for the software to run are met including internet connection, IP address assignment if applicable, PC specs (Hard disk space, OS, etc), pre-requisite software (such as SQL, anti-virus), etc

Kualifikasi Minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree in any IT related course, i.e., Engineering, Computer Science, IT
- Technically knowledgeable in most common hardware and software systems used in the IT industry
- Technically knowledgeable in most common network hardware, software and security appliances used in the industry today
- Has an Analytical and thorough knowledge on network administration and troubleshooting
- Flexible, with good communication skills, passionate for work, team player
