What the heck is a Data Scientist?

SG Interactive is looking for a Software Engineer/Data Scientist to join our team in Makati. A Software Engineer/Data Scientist that can contribute to the development of a data science/data analytics service, leveraging strong hands-on technical expertise, exceptional communications and interpersonal skills and people management experience.

You will have the opportunity to apply your data science skills to several R&D projects in our product lines SlideSuite and Carstir, and to their respective analytics. You will have the opportunity to contribute to design and prototyping of systems in collaboration with top computer vision researchers and data engineers.

Your role

• Contributing member of Machine Learning & Predictive User Experience team. Team functions to prototype and develop features relying on prediction and automation
• Develop software for a production cloud-based data management project
• Identifying trends and relationships within data
• Using trend data to improve application performance and business operations
• Contribute to the setup of build and development tools
• Contribute to algorithm tuning and development
• Developing strategies to optimize data and search
• Devise a strategy for configuring application recommendation engines

Other responsibilities may include:

Work closely with Management and Business Development team to grow the practice in your geographical area, this will include:

• Work on the material to support presentation to clients
• Work with our U.S. team to develop product roadmaps
• Work on a commercial and technical proposal with the business development team
• Assess and evaluate new potential recruits in SG Interactive team

What sort of qualifications do I need?

Skills and Attributes

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technology field
• Familiar with concepts in Statistics
• High proficiency programming in ASP.NET MVC 5
• Quick learning with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with rapid development cycles
• Machine learning experience a big plus
• Automotive R&D experience a big plus

Required experience:

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years designing and developing web applications built on Microsoft.NET for ASP.NET MVC. This position will leverage candidate’s experience with front-end development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery) and back-end development (C#, MVC, SQL Design, and Entity Framework). Candidates with experience deploying and managing solutions on Microsoft’s Azure platform (Cloud Services, Web Roles, Worker Roles, Blob Storage, and SQL Azure) are preferred.
