The database administrator ensures that the company's database remains functional, secure, and easily searchable by building a database system that has been tailored to the needs of users. They are in charge of storing, organizing, using, and analyzing database management software. By creating a new database or integrating existing data into a new system, a database administrator is expected to meet the storage and database needs of the company.


In addition to testing and modifying the database on a regular basis in order to have good performance, the database administrator also performs troubleshooting when problems occur in the program or hardware of the database management system. They must ensure that access to the database is only granted to authorized users, such as data analysts. The formal education degree required is undergraduate to postgraduate in the field of information systems or informatics engineering.

  • Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN.

  • Monitor data archiving processes and system configuration to ensure data integrity.

  • Collaborate with clients, data analysts and other relevant teams to ensure database reliability and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct an audit process on hygiene report data to ensure the data is kept up to date.

  • Facilitate personalized data retrieval processes for various company needs.

  • Reviewing the data processing cycle and providing development recommendations.

  • Provides a data dashboard that top-level managers can use for reporting.

  • Work closely with related teams to identify and report bugs in the database management system.

  • Correspond with the client's technical team to recommend a solution that fits the client's needs.

  • Identify and follow up the scope of work that has the potential for development and automation.

  • Planning, coordinating, and providing recommendations regarding database security.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in informatics engineering, information systems, information technology, or equivalent.

  • Experienced in using Microsoft Vista and SQL server.

  • Experienced in using DMLSS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, UNIX, and DBMS.

  • Experienced in running Linux systems, Oracle Database, Cloud software, and Agile.

  • Have a good understanding of relational databases, backup and recovery, and scripting.

  • Able to demonstrate problem solving skills.

  • Experienced in using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

  • Experienced using DB2 UDB, UDB, and DB2 systems.
