Job Description

  • Implement international standards for HSSE for all business processes.
  • Develop market specific solutions, with global best practice in HSSE, during development, construction, and operational phases and within community projects.
  • Manage and drive the annual HSSE objectives for the project.
  • Develop proactive HSSE campaigns and roll them out at project site
  • Establish HSSE best practices, including analysis, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of HSSE performance of projects in development, construction and operation while aligning procedures with global standards
  • Liaise with Global and Regional HSSE colleagues, including other functional area managers to ensure that HSSE plans, and best practices are being shared and adopted.
  • Develop the project HSSE Policy and implement ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO9001 certification requirements for the project.
  • Work with the HSSE team to develop, maintain and implement the HSSE framework and ensure alignment to relevant HSSE statutory requirements
  • Carry out incident/accident/dangerous situation reporting and investigations with root causes analysis. Recommend and oversee corrective/preventive measures to facilitate continuous improvement on the HSSE aspect of the work environment
  • Interface with external bodies such as government agencies to ensure legal/policy compliance and participate in any subsequent communication to stakeholders within the business
  • Use and develop innovative HSSE communication strategies for all contractors and levels of staff, to include but not limited to, written information, toolbox talks, management briefs, notices, etc
  • Performs any other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by immediate superior consistent with the purpose of this role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Degree or diploma in a HSSE or relevant.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience applying HSSE standards in construction and operation.
  • Managing teams with proven ability to manage the interfaces with various stakeholders (Operations, Construction, Government agencies, Security and Community Relations disciplines)
  • Experience measuring and reporting on HSSE impacts of projects
  • Experience in applying HSSE international standards in asset management, operations and or construction
  • Experience in implementation of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards
  • Experience in HSSE management in windfarm projects or Oil & Gas industry will be advantageous.
  • Trained and experienced in incident / accident investigation.
  • Capable of managing HSSE across multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Setup and roll out of HSSE strategies.
  • Robust project management skill set required including contract management, contract administration, scheduling, planning, budget preparation and control.
