Job Description
The Project CAPEX Supervisor is responsible for supporting the AVP for Project CAPEX Controllership in managing and controlling ARI’s capital expenditures. This role involves overseeing the budgeting, cost management, financial analysis, and reporting of CAPEX projects. The Project CAPEX Supervisor will ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls while coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders. The position aims to maintain and improve processes, track and forecast costs, support capital structuring decisions, and enhance financial decision-making related to CAPEX.
Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain systems to track and report on actual and forecasted CAPEX costs, prepare and present regular financial reports, and provide insights into project cost performance and forecast accuracy.
- Assist in creating and enforcing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure a robust financial control environment and compliance with Company standards and Finance processes.
- Coordinate with various teams (e.g., Project Development, Project Management Leads, Business Development) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and liaise with ARI Finance on financing and cash flow requirements.
- Work with Project and Contract Managers to assess and validate assumptions related to CAPEX project costs, oversee project teams' cost forecasts, and consider historical costs.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and computations to support CAPEX planning and decision-making, analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Provide strong support for capital structuring decisions, including evaluating and recommending financial strategies for CAPEX projects, and optimizing financial resource allocation and utilization.
- Identify and address emerging CAPEX-related issues, provide mitigating measures and strategies, and challenge Project Investment Requests (PIR), OPEX requests, and purchase requisitions for policy alignment.
- Ensure alignment of budget, commitments, and costs with business rules and financial data validation, monitoring payments to ensure they relate to approved contracts and claims.
- Establish and maintain consolidated CAPEX utilization reports for timely and accurate decision-making, ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
- Provide financial input for detailed risk-assessed forecasts, raising deviations and flagging risks for proper escalation and resolution.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the AVP for Project CAPEX Controllership and BU Controller
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related role.
- 5 years in project experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Applied Math, Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of CAPEX management, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Licenses (CPA, CMA, etc.) not required but an advantage
