Job Description
About the role:
The primary focus of the Plant Controller is to assist the Finance Controller. The plant controller is responsible for managing the Plant period-end close and all accounting operations and financial analysis, including processing financial transactions, producing periodic financial reports, and maintaining accounting records.
Responsible for maintaining and overseeing compliance with the comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the plant's reported financial results, and ensure compliance with the generally accepted accounting principles and/or international reporting standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Act as the financial leader of the plant, responsible for making informed decisions that drive the plant's growth and profitability.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- In charge of the closing of the Costing Module in the system / SAP every month.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, including tax and reporting requirements.
- Supervise and mentor a team of financial professionals.
Cost Improvement:
- Ensure product margin on all Production orders are at an acceptable level.
- Analyze and provide commentary on Production variances per Production order level.
- Monitor and Analyze Product Yield variances per SKU/Production order.
- Support the Supply Chain in ensuring the accuracy of Inventory Balances per system vs Physical count.
- Support the Plant Operations department in the understanding of expenses actual vs budget.
- Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes to support the plant's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with plant management and cross-functional teams to drive financial performance.
- Act as Finance business partner for Plant, Engineering, QA, and Supply chain.
Safeguarding of Assets:
- Creates significant SOPs affecting Financial and SAP Posting (both actual & system) especially movement/handling of stocks.
- Report and highlight stocks/inventories (RM/FG) regarding their expiration status.
- Prepares monitoring report to reopen status production orders.
- Validates the Yield/Output as declared and posted and examines through theoretical calculation to verify gaps from input versus output.
- Monitors the Warehouse Team and recommends control measures such as documentation on receiving, transferring, etc.
- Deals with Inventory Variances / calls the attention of SC Team & WH on issues of cycle counting variances.
- Maintains inventory control and reconciliations.
- Assists / answers inquiries and concerns, especially on SAP posting.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned either individually or as part of a committee or team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of BS Accountancy; CPA.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience as a Plant Controller in manufacturing set-up, focusing on finance and management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and financial software.
