We are looking for a talented paralegal who will support in-house legal counsel for a focus on business registration services. August 99 is a startup incubator. Its sister company, Loft Spaces, provides business services. This role will help businesses and startups register, operate, and renew business licenses, permits, and contracts in Metro Manila.
You will be involved in the documentation for partnerships and legal transactions. Your main goal is to ensure that all documents are in order, checklists are completed, and comply with government requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Preparing and or assisting in drafting of corporate legal documents such as affidavits, contract, memoranda, and other corporate documents
- Coordinate with government agencies and Legal Counsel for legal/litigation/compliance matters
- Administer business permit registration for sole proprietorship, domestic and foreign corporations
- Draft and file court and legal documents, such as, but not limited to, memorandum of agreement, non-disclosure and data sharing agreements, company policies
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles
- Assist the Executives or Finance Manager in securing government permits and licenses, registration of companies with SEC and BIR and coordinate with lawyers regarding corporate and litigation matters
- Responsible for the timely submission of all legal documents and regulatory compliance requirements
- Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations
- Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors
- Assist in representing the company in legal proceedings
- Assist in overseeing the company’s policy and position on legal matters
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably Political Science or Legal Management OR equivalent experience
- Preferably 1-2 years working experience as Legal Assistant or Paralegal
- Must have experience in business permit registration for sole proprietorship, domestic and foreign corporations.
- With background in legal, notarial department/government office
- Knowledgeable of Obligations and Contracts, Labor Law and Data Privacy Law and a high level of research skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to adapt in a fast-paced working environment working with multiple clients at a time
