- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and materials required for projects.
- Lay brick, block, and stone using various techniques and tools to construct walls, arches, fireplaces, and other structures.
- Mix and prepare mortar and other materials as needed for masonry applications.
- Perform repairs and restoration work on existing structures, including identifying and resolving issues related to cracks, damaged masonry, and other concerns.
- Ensure that all masonry work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with other construction team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure a clean and safe work area.
- Estimate materials and labor costs for masonry projects and communicate requirements to supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a masonry apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mason, with a strong portfolio of completed masonry projects.
- Proficiency with masonry tools and equipment, including trowels, levels, chisels, and mixers.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical settings.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety practices in construction.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
