Job Description
API Engineers at Expedock will be responsible for building and scaling the API layer of our business to connect our company’s systems to the entirety of systems used across the global supply chain. API Engineers will be involved in leading RESTful API development and downstream integration work, including connecting to the leading supply chain software systems worldwide and introducing our own API standards to the rest of the industry. Engineers will work closely with our product and design teams to define feature specifications and build impactful connections, have a high degree of ownership over the products that they help build, and spend their time on meaningful, interesting technical problems.
As an API Engineer, you will:
- Be responsible for building, deploying and maintaining Restful APIs and their communication with the down-stream systems
- Write clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
- Write code for well-designed, high-quality APIs with minimal downtime
- Architect the connection layer for software systems for new products/services in the company with our existing APIs.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to insure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Fluency in Python
- Fluency with RESTful API principles, design and tradeoffs
- Passion for writing clean, user-friendly code to solve challenging engineering problems
- Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies is a plus
- Experience with SQL databases is a plus (especially Postgres, though NoSQL is also acceptable)
