Job Description

Visual Merchandising Manager

Job Summary: The Visual Merchandising Manager plays a crucial role in creating an engaging and visually appealing shopping experience for customers. This role involves leading a team of Regional Visual Merchandisers to effectively display merchandise, develop creative displays, and enhance the overall store aesthetics to drive sales and brand loyalty.

Responsibilities:

  1. Visual Merchandising Strategy: Develop and implement the visual merchandising strategy that aligns with the brand's image, target audience, and current trends.
  2. Store Layout and Design: Collaborate with the store management team to plan and optimize the store layout, ensuring efficient use of space and highlighting key product categories and promotions.
  3. Window Displays: Create captivating and innovative window displays that showcase the latest products and tell a compelling story, drawing customers into the store.
  4. In-Store Displays: Design and execute attractive in-store displays, including feature walls, focal points, and merchandise arrangements that guide customers through the store.
  5. Fixture Placement: Strategically place fixtures, mannequins, and signage to enhance product visibility and encourage exploration of different product sections.
  6. Planogram Implementation: Develop and maintain planograms for various store sections, ensuring consistent presentation of merchandise and easy navigation for customers.
  7. Product Presentation: Ensure products are presented in an organized and visually appealing manner, paying attention to color coordination, styling, and thematic groupings.
  8. Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory and buying teams to ensure appropriate stock levels for display and replenishment, avoiding overstock or out-of-stock situations.
  9. Team Management: Lead and coach a team of visual merchandisers, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure consistent execution of visual standards.
  10. Seasonal Transitions: Oversee the seamless transition of displays and decor to align with seasonal changes, holidays, and promotional events.
  11. Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and design teams to integrate branding, promotional materials, and graphics into visual displays.
  12. Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitors' visual merchandising strategies to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  13. Feedback and Reporting: Gather customer feedback and sales data to evaluate the effectiveness of visual merchandising strategies and make data-driven improvements.
  14. Health and Safety: Ensure all visual displays and setups adhere to safety and accessibility regulations, including fire codes and other Government guidelines.
  15. Budget Management: Manage the visual merchandising budget, including allocation of resources for props, materials, signage, and displays.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, Design, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (X+ years) in visual merchandising, preferably in the fashion retail industry.
  • Strong creative and artistic abilities with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Excellent understanding of current fashion trends, consumer behavior, and retail design principles.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools (Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD etc.).
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Analytical skills to interpret sales data and customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • This is a work-on-site (work at the office)
