Job Description

The Senior Strategic Planner will play a key role in driving the development of data-driven pitch proposals (PR & Digital) for both potential and existing M2.0 clients. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams specializing in Content Development, Client Servicing, and Business Development, the Senior Strategic Planner will ensure the creation of compelling strategies that align with client objectives.

In addition to leading the development of pitch proposals, the Senior Strategic Planner will assume the responsibility of guiding Research Assistants, equipping them with advanced skills in communication strategy. This will involve conducting training sessions on basic deck/presentation creation and providing guidance on M2.0's presentation outline.

Furthermore, the Senior Strategic Planner, in conjunction with the Strategy Director, will actively participate in the team's operations and functions. Together, they will develop career development plans for team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring a high-performing and motivated team.

The Senior Strategic Planner will report directly to the Strategy Director, who will oversee the team's activities and career development plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Strategic Communication Plans: Create comprehensive and integrated communication strategies to support clients' PR or Digital objectives. This includes identifying target audiences, crafting key messages, selecting appropriate communication channels, and outlining tactics to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Conduct Research and Analysis: Perform in-depth research and analysis to understand clients' industries, target markets, competitors, and current trends. Use this information to inform strategy development and provide valuable insights for client campaigns.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their goals, provide strategic counsel, and ensure alignment between their objectives and the agency's deliverables.
  • Lead Brainstorming and Ideation Sessions: Facilitate brainstorming sessions with the strategy team and other stakeholders to generate innovative ideas and creative PR or Digital concepts. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages diverse perspectives and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Develop PR & Digital Campaigns: Create and oversee the development of PR or Digital campaigns that align with clients' goals and objectives. This includes defining campaign objectives, establishing target metrics, developing messaging, and coordinating the execution of tactics across different channels.
  • Monitor Industry Trends and Insights: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PR and communications. Continuously monitor media coverage and social media trends related to clients' industries to identify opportunities and potential risks.
  • Serve as quality assurance: Review and evaluate campaign proposals from the Strategy Team, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations.
  • Conduct research using agency tools: Utilize agency tools and resources to conduct thorough research, extracting valuable insights to inform data-driven communications recommendations.
  • Identify impactful insights: Analyze research findings and identify key insights that can be leveraged to create compelling and impactful campaign narratives.
  • Provide strategic support to current clients: Collaborate with the Client Success Department to offer strategic guidance and support to current clients, aligning their communication strategies with business objectives.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Strong organizational and project management skills to develop and implement strategic communication plans. This includes setting goals, creating action plans, managing timelines and budgets, and overseeing the execution of tactics.
  • Relationship Building: The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members. This includes effective interpersonal skills, active listening, empathy, and the ability to collaborate and influence others.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency in digital platforms, social media, and emerging technologies relevant to PR and communications. This includes understanding the digital landscape, leveraging digital tools for research and analysis, and staying up-to-date with the latest digital trends.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing PR environment. This includes being open to new ideas, embracing change, and adjusting strategies as needed to meet evolving client needs and industry trends.

This includes the ability to delegate tasks, provide constructive feedback, and empower team members to reach their full potential.
