Job Description

Job Summary:

Plan, direct, and coordinate the accounting departments’ operational functions for Pacific Rim and affiliated entities. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. Overseeing regulatory reporting, tax planning, and compliance.

The Senior Accountant provides supervisory, functional, and technical process leadership. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Supervise accounting processes ensuring the team is meeting deadlines and accurately performing essential duties.

· Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

· Facilitate month-end and year-end close process including preparation of working papers, reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, schedule maintenance (ie Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Prepayments, and other accounts), and posting of journal entries.

· Develop and maintain the project’s financial records, budget, and compliance requirements.

· Assist in the preparation of financial reporting and forecasting on a monthly, mid-year, and annual basis.

· Work with the management team to develop, administer, and implement process improvements in financial analysis and forecasting, as well as consolidating, reviewing, and reporting on all financial matters.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

· Perform ad-hoc projects as needed.

· Participate in any internal or external audits.

· Establishes and maintains the organization’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

· Assists in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with established best practices.

· Guides and assists other departments by clearly communicating accounting and budgeting policies.

· Prepares analysis and review of the organization’s financial performance by collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial and statistical data.

· Oversees the preparation and evaluation of budgets and other financial operating reports and presents findings and recommendations to senior management.

· Work with the upper management in developing and monitoring business performance metrics including immediate and future strategies for the organization.

· Utilize accounting IT systems to facilitate processes and maintain records.

· Develops innovative and effective solutions to problems in financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting through individual effort or as part of a team.

· Overseeing regulatory reporting.

· Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

· Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.

· Preferrable with CPA Certification.

· Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.

· Accounting, auditing, and corporate finance experience.

· Expert-level proficiency in an ERP system.

· Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas).

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to explain complex accounting data in a simple way.

· Ability to analyze complex systems.

· Problem-solving skills.

· Verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

· Knowledge of accounting and financial software.

· Willingness to stay up to date with the latest accounting methods and technology.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas).
