Job Description
The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing research and technical assistance to the Project Leader and Consultants. Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform coordination functions within the project team, the funding agency, and other stakeholders on technical aspects of the project;
- Assist in the formulation of survey questionnaires and sampling methodology;
- Conduct data collection activities (e.g. surveys, FGDs, KIIs);
- Provide support in data encoding and data analysis;
- Collect relevant secondary information from various sources.
- Supervise the field data collection and validate the data for completeness and reliability.
- Organize and provide support during meetings and consultations, including documentation and preparation of discussion materials.
- Assist in writing, editing, and layouting project outputs and deliverables.
- Willing to travel to project sites for fieldwork and coordination meetings.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the successful implementation of the project.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational background:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Science, or other related fields. Advanced degrees or coursework in the above fields is an advantage.
Work experience:
Three (3) years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, research, or monitoring and evaluation, preferably in agriculture, rural development, or related sectors.
Proven experience conducting data collection activities, such as surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and key informant interviews (KIIs). Experience in designing survey tools, sampling methodologies, and working with large datasets is preferred. Prior involvement in government or donor-funded development projects is an advantage.
Skills and competencies:
- Strong coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in data encoding, management, and analysis, including experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata) or other relevant tools.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize information from various sources.
- Strong technical writing skills, with experience in report writing, editing, and layout.
