Job Description
The Substation Operator is responsible for the effective, efficient and safe operation of the substation equipment / assets of Lingion Switchyard. Safely manage the transition for the facility between Operational and safe-to-maintain states.
Responsibilities (What-How-Why)
- Ensures that Substation facility is operating at optimum level with all monitored parameters within prescribed levels as per grid regulations.
- Executes switching, isolation and earthing of substation equipment through proper coordination and standard protocol with NGCP Substation and System Operator
- Coordinates with HBI Plant Operator to ensure the proper switching sequence protocol is followed during maintenance activities.
- Coordinates with NGCP System Operator to ensure the proper switching sequence protocol is followed during maintenance activities.
- Gathers and records data from parameters being monitored on the Substation facility with regards to transmission of power within the Grid and from the HBI Plants.
- Gathers and records data from parameters being monitored on the Substation auxiliary equipment to ensure that facility is operating within prescribed levels.
- Ensures that operating data is fully captured and checked to ensure data integrity.
- Encodes and submits daily operating data of Substation facility to System Operator
- Visually checks and records substation equipment daily to inspect for signs of defects
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of Engineering Course (Electrical / Mechanical)
- Preferably with related experience in Power Distribution or Power Plant Operations
- Fresh graduate/s are encourage to apply
- Licensed Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical)
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
