Job Description
Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
The Curriculum and Academic Standards Support Supervisor provides guidance, coordination, and collaborative support to academic and curriculum development teams of the Higher Education. This position underpins support mechanisms to ensure alignment of curriculum and academic standards with the University and government policies and standards.
This position closely works with academic departments, deans, and other key University positions in the review of new or revised academic policies and graduate programs curriculum, for approval of the School body and the Commission on Higher Education .
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
I Curriculum Management Support
- Oversees and facilitates functions and processes related to the review, revision, development, implementation, and evaluation of graduate program curriculum and course proposals, in coordination with the Graduate Programs and Curriculum Head
- Coordinates and works closely with academic Deans, departments, offices, and other relevant stakeholders in developing graduate curriculum and course program proposals
- Facilitates the conduct of regular reviews for the curriculum and proposal process with the various schools and academic units
- Reviews curriculum and course proposals to ensure alignment with the policies and standards of the University, CHED, and other relevant government agencies, and provides findings and recommendations to the Graduate Programs and Curriculum Head
- Recommends and endorses reviewed curriculum and course proposals for evaluation of the Committee on Curriculum (Graduate Programs), and if necessary, for approval of the School Council
II Academic Standards Management Support
- Oversees and facilitates functions and processes related to the review of academic policies and protocols for the Graduate Education
- Works closely with academic Deans, departments, offices, industry partners, and other relevant stakeholders in conducting regular reviews of academic policies, in coordination with the Graduate Programs and Curriculum Head
- Facilitates administrative processes related to the processing of appeals in various academic standards matters, in coordination with the Graduate Programs and Curriculum Head
III Data Management and Quality Assurance
- Keeps track of updates and developments related to curriculum and academic standards which affects the Higher Education
- Conducts research and benchmarking activities on curriculum and academic standards
- Proactively gathers information and meets with school representatives to understand their context and realities in relation to curriculum and academic standards
- Recommends ways to incorporate new insights and/or applicable practices in the team’s processes and programs, in collaboration with the stakeholders
- Reviews and provides recommendations/actions to various requests related to curriculum and academic standards
- Monitors and implements new/updated University and government regulations pertaining to curriculum and academic standards, in close coordination with the Policy Development and Quality Assurance Head
IV Section Support and Staff Supervision
- Proposes budget proposals related to the curriculum and academic standard services, for the review of the Graduate Program and Curriculum Head
Performs other work-related tasks as may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representative
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Data Analysis and Management Skills Proficient in analyzing data to derive insights and make informed decisions
- Technological Savvy Proficient in office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office applications, Google Workspace, Educational Technology and other resources, etc.); Knowledgeable of the University’s Student Information System
- Project Management and Program Development Skills Proficient in project management techniques and methodologies, with the ability to oversee the development and implementation of programs
- Critical Thinking and Decision-Making Skills Ability to assess information and identify root cause of the situation, and finding the best possible solutions that would benefit the majority
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or other related fields
- At least 3-5 years of work experience in curriculum development process, and in the academic setting
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Work experience in data gathering and data analysis
