Purchasing Officer  

Our company is looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer who will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing supplies, materials, and machineries from Philippine suppliers, as well as from other international suppliers, including China and Vietnam. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the furniture industry, be familiar with sourcing platforms like Alibaba, and possess strong negotiation skills.The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the company has a steady and reliable supply chain of raw materials, machinery, and other supplies to keep our furniture manufacturing process running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize the cost and quality of supplies, materials, and machineries.
• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, including conducting supplier audits, assessing supplier capabilities and negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
• Manage relationships with existing suppliers, including monitoring supplier performance and maintaining effective communication.
• Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements with suppliers.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, finance, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of supplies and materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders as needed to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to proactively manage risks and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing and supply management in the furniture industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience dealing with suppliers from multiple countries, including China and Vietnam.
• Knowledge of sourcing platforms like Alibaba and other procurement technologies.
• Experience with procurement and inventory management software.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
